I can't, for the life of me, figure out the interconnectedness of each song. What am I suppose to recognize? What is the relationship between each track? Fortunatly, I don't have to understand to hear the sounds.

Righty, where to start? Satch taught Vai, who toured with Zappa and was a member of Whitesnake for a bit. But Vai also played in David Lee Roth's solo band, and of course DLR was Van Halen's first frontman. And Extreme's vocalist Gary Cherone joined Van Halen briefly. How's that? (knew most of it, but required a bit of research)
