Comment:
Just under 80 minutes from an artist whom I've only learned to appreciate recently. I'm sure it's apparent that I'm biased towards her first album and early work in general, although I attempted to make this comp a career-spanning comp (no songs from "Dream of Life", "Peace & Noise" or "Gung Ho" made the cut, however, although I'm pretty fond of "Peace & Noise", at least). Cut tracks: "Privilege (Set Me Free)", "We Three", "Citizen Ship", "Broken Flag", "The Jackson Song", "Farewell Reel", "Waiting Underground" and "1959".Feedback:
looks good as usual, I only miss "Frederick" and maybe "People have the power" but i don't know which tracks you should cut
I'll need to get this at some point, Rob, because I must admit I've never really listened to her.
Here's my queen, i loooove Patti, love her lyrics, love her music, love her beauty, i'm with my swedish friend here, miss Frederick+Gone again! But hey, one of her best are here: ASK THE ANGELS!
I love the early stuff too, but her most recent output has grown on me a lot - "Glitter in their eyes", "1959", and more. She still makes good, relevant music. Like so many other artists, her later stuff seems weak because her early stuff is SO great.
I can still remember the first time I saw her do "Because the Night".......floored me. (...and, I found out that women really are interested in much the same things...) she was unlike anything I'd ever seen....and I love her for it! I tip my helmet...
An american treasure...you too Rob ;-)
fine stuff.
Wow...thanks to the title of this CD, I finally understand that Mystery Science Theater 300 reference...
