Comment:
First CD mix I've submitted in a while (thanks to my portable MP3 player)... The title is a lyric from Mister Tom Waits' "Everything Goes to Hell"... Starts off with an oddball slice of 70's cheese and quickly gets all indie and/or anglophilic... The Bjork track is from a 'Rarities' CD comp... The Amelia Fletcher song is from her post-Talulah Gosh pre-Heavenly solo 45... Mark Eitzel's "Charm School" is from his sold-at-shows-only CD 'Superhits International'... And from the 'Where Are They Now?' file of alt-rock vocalists: Angie Hart of Frente, Astrid Williamson of Goya Dress, Suzanne Little of Lava Hay, Craig Wedren of Shudder to Think, and the ever-lovely (current Luna bassist) Britta Phillips of Belltower (songs from the latter two were free downloads from their respective websites: www.craigwedren.com and www.brittaphillips.com)... The CD closes with Deborah Harry's gorgeous after-hours jazz reading of Charles Mingus' "Weird Nightmare" - a longtime personal favorite. The cover art is Turner's 'Hannibal Crossing the Alps'... This was fun to make - God knows when I'll have time to make another.Feedback:
Outstanding mix and cover. I'm not familiar with the Amelia Fletcher single. Being a big Talulah Gosh/Heavenly/Marine Research fan, I must investigate soon.
Fantastic! That makes (at least) two of us using Bowie's version of "Cactus" in the last few hours. Really cool how that was paired up next to the Breeders track, too.
this looks great. i love that astrid song (thanks to jack rabid for introducing me to her music) as well as most of the rest of this.
I'm a fan of this mix. Everything goes to hell...anyway.
