Comment:

Deep Dish is (or are?--there are two of them) my favorite "big-name" remixers of the 1990s. Not as formulaic as Todd Terry, not as fluffy as Frankie Knuckles, not as piano-driven as David Morales, they just lay on the beats with a signature rhythm (froggy bass and backwards-looped-sounding drums) that makes for some seriously funky house. This mix is continuous (of course) and incorporates some remixes for other artists as well as Deep Dish originals.

Deep Dish are the best, hands down. "stay gold" is my fav all-time house track.(the original 12" version. Also really like the Morel mix. Crap song but great remix...

this is very good and i'm a bit upset because i thought of this MONTHS ago and never got to it. ah well. well done. . . their remix of De'Lacey "Hideaway" is my favorite DD remix of all time. The only omission I can see is their remix of Dusted "Always Remember to Respect and Honour Your Mother" (Deep Dish Love Their Motha Mix). . . hearing this over a big system brought me to tears. :)

I almost put the Dusted track in, but I ended up running out of space on the CD and it came down to either "Always Respect..." or "Barbarella." The breakdown in "Barbarella" is too amazing, so I had to ditch "Dusted." Volume 2, perhaps?
