Comment:
last christmas presented a problem. a gust of misfortunes left me penniless. while happy shoppers cavorted through the malls expressing their feelings for their loved ones with sizzling credit card kisses i was left home trying to figure out what to do. i only had enough money to buy a couple of spindles of blank cds (he he he) and there in grew my plan. i took a musical walk through my collection, burning as i went. with a whimsical eye, i decided to burn not thematically but alphabetically. danger danger. i tried to stay as close as i could to what i considered mainstream rock. i wanted this gift to be used and i've found that too many head scratching titles equals no play time on my friend's stereos. i couldn't spend too much time in any given letter or this project would have been endless. so...i know so and so may not show up in the bs but please...there had to be a limit. anyways...it ended up being 15 cds long. made the master and six burns. i'll post them in groups of threes so i don't hog up alot of space. the people who recieved them continue to give me positive feedback so i guess it came out ok. let me know what you think.Feedback:
COOL series. Was looking for Clapton's "Running on Faith": 'Lately I've been running on faith, what else can a POOR boy do?' (which'd, a'course, be PERFECT for yr series).
This is very cool artaud. But, you know, if friend's won't put head scratching stuff on their stereos, their stereos should be confiscated.
interesting point curtis. i tell myself that sometimes but in the end i'd rather that they at least listened to quality mainstream than the nightmare coming over the airwaves. as hard as it is to believe...a good portion of this mix was/would be "new" to their ears. i continue to explore the fringes on cds i burn for myself and if you're a guest at my house, thats what you hear but in the spirit of christmas(smile) i tried to give them something i knew they'd enjoy. see my point?
