I'd say 95% of my single artist mixes are arranged chronologically, another 5% mixed up to vary tempos/styles. With Elvis, I went with an alphabetical (and thus random) approach, primarily because I'm not as big a fan of late-period Elvis and didn't think I'd listen much to the latter half of a chronological mix. Came out fairly interesting, though a few downsides -- the one ballad ("Alison") is right up front, and somehow most of the late-period Elvis still showed up on disc 2. Check out Vol. 2 for the rest of this.

Ugh...another Elvis mix ; ) Just kidding. I'm the same way about most later Elvis, but this still looks like it turned out pretty well. Nice job.
Interesting idea. Do you really have every EC song? I met EC recently. He put on an incredible show at UCLA. Even got a picture with him. I recently made a two disc compilation of his later material--much of which I think is overlooked. Your mix has inspired me to post the track listing. I'll do it latert today.

interesting way to arrange it. nice inclusion of "trust" stuff. i recently tried to squeeze 77-02 into two discs. editing was a bitch.
Never mind my comment below...I now see it's just a "best of," not an all inclusive A-Z set. I just posted the track listing for my two-disc "best of the later years" set. I'll have to do another two disc set for the early years. In my eyes (and ears), there's just no way to do the guy's entire career justice in only two discs.
