Comment:
So I made this mix after I was at the Diesel store today. They have in-house DJs Thursday thru Sundays and from what I hear, if they let you DJ, you get either $75 in cash or $150 in store credit. Needless to say, I came home and made this mix as a preliminary adventure as to what I'd put on a mix if I were to give it to Diesel as a candidate for in-house DJ. We start off with a UK garage-y tune by Smith & Mighty which segues into the downtempo garage of the UK's The Streets. That leads into the head-bobbing single by Styles, which bleeds into two more hiphop tracks by nerdy white guys. Push Button Objects offer a nice hiphop ditty with a little bit of dancehall reggae, segueing into the final track of side a, Red Rat's 'Rumours.' Side b picks up where side a left off, offering some classic Shabba Ranks. The next two tracks also play on the reggae tip, but infused with a bit of drum n' bass (what the kids these days call ragga). Freak Force gives us that aggro bassy two-step-ish sampling of George W., while Konsorten and Latex close out the tape with some nice and dance-able electrowave tracks. C'est tout. Enjoy.Feedback:
You're hired ;-! Good luck.
