Whimsical, scatological, nonsensical . . . are just three ways to describe the Adam Green vibe, and that's barely scratching the surface. We haven't mentioned the lush Jim Morrisonesque baritone that turns "Nat King Cole" into a velvet-coated rock 'n' roll confection, or the ribald satire of "Choke On a C**k", or the direct, affecting simplicity of his Joy Division cover, "Love Will Tear Us Apart". In addition to his solo output Green was also one half of anti-folk duet the Moldy Peaches (with Kimya Dawson), notable for the rhyming of "humanity" with "huge manatee" on "Nothing Came Out", and for "Anyone Else But You", which slotted perfectly into the soundtrack for [i]Juno[/i] (memorably performed by stars Ellen Page and Michael Cera). Green, apparently, is hugely popular in Germany.
