Comment:
I was looking through my discs over the weekend (most of them are in binders, as they had to travel a few thousand miles), and I was thinking about when I first heard the music. I also realised that I've not listened to some things for awhile, so this is a collection of bits and pieces of my collection, in 3 volumes.Feedback:
Wow, "Spicks & Specks" is a super tune. What a nice mix! I will say, however, that the Pixies song sticks out like a sore thumb.... .which can only be a good rock and roll thing. Yeah!
all the 3 volumes looks good to me, fav track on this one, mmmmmm... Aretha Franklin You're All I Need to Get By
My favorite on here is "Cumberland Blues". A fine finishing volume.
'Spick and Specks' is indeed a great song - my fave pick on here.
Lotsa great choices here. Nice. Great to see Creedence and Jimmy Smith on the tail end.
All three volumes look great!
I thought the Pixies track stuck out a bit too, but not as much as the Radiohead track I decided to cut in favor of 'Spicks & Specks.' I overlooked the Bee Gees, as it's one of the discs I've gotten since I've been here and therefore is in a separate pile (the Lulu track reminded me of it). Thanks (again) for all of your comments.
Rob, I almost couldn't get 'Cumberland Blues' on, as it didn't want to recognise the CD, but on the sixth try, it worked. Funny how you can get a track list in your mind, and it just has to go that way.
Many great songs here, i must tell you that I'm a big fan of Herb Aplert 60s recordsing, maybe I'm just weird but i can't stop dancing to it:-D
...Gordon Lightfoot....i love him!
This whole series is absolutely stunning. Can't believe I missed it first time around. Lots of my personal favourites are here.
