iTunes has put together a playlist of some chilled-out cumbias that is perfect for spring. This mix gives a heavy focus on the modernized style of the cumbia, driven by heavily synthesized beats. Although it is still considered one of the key representative folk styles of Columbia, its highly percussive, celebratory nature has worked its way into all sorts of music, from the booming reggaetón of Calle 13 to the heavy dub styles of Sidestepper and the rumbling, big beats of Kinky.
