Comment:
Made during and in the wake of the Red Sox's just plain embarrassing loss to the Yankees on Sunday July 21st, the final kick to the groin in a severely emotionally draining weekend series in the Bronx. Side 1 was made while the game was in progress, the last couple innings through to closer Ugeth Urbina's (the Ugie of the title) meltdown on the mound in the 9th. Side 2 is an analogue to the emotional trials of being a die hard life long Red Sox fan, running the gamut from murderous rage (the Kristin Hersh song) to resignation in the face of the inevitable (Street Spirit....fade out indeed!).Making mixtapes is a much healthier outlet than throwing your TV out the window in disgust, which is my usual M.O. when the Sox grasp defeat from the jaws of victory.
Feedback:
I feel for you, and all of you Red Sox fans. Maybe they should trade Ugie and make 'El Guapo,' Rich Garces the closer. That would kill your anxiety!
Awesome mix. But I wonder if you should have finished on a last minute, but still too late, rally? Some kind of last-gasp-too-late effort. It's hard to imagine what kind of song that would be, though.
oh i haven't heard Prime mover for years, asskicking song
Pedro an' Lowe and pray for snow!
Even if your baseball team loses, content yourself with the fact that you make kick ass mixes. That Deftones song gives me the chills.
Wonderful mix...for a Red Sox fan ;->
