Comment:
imation cd-r [80] [lloyd cole is a rather recent discovery for me. he's a bit in the "elvis costello" mold, i suppose -- but seems pretty determined about shape-shifting his surrounding musicians on a regular basis, if not, ultimately, changing his musical presentations as radically as some like to suggest. his first band was called "the commotions"; his second, "the negatives"; he released solo (in name, anyway) in-between. but throughout: consistently tuneful and clever without being overly... well... "clever" about it. and plenty of stuff about love and all it's not cracked up to be. like sinead o'connor (for me, in recent mixes), he was supposed to warrant just ONE favorites disc, not two -- let alone three. but let's give the guy some due.... (and "fool for you" was supposed to be on here someplace, but proved too "clever" to corral.)]
Feedback:
oh i used to love these guy but it was a long time ago, still classy stuff
I'm with the swede...
