What do you call a country outlaw with hardcore punk leanings and a prodigious appetite for lyrical hell-raisin' that makes the term [i]outlaw[/i] seem mightily insufficient? Hank Williams III, naturally. Together with his Damn Band, the grandson of the great man — who looks and sounds a lot like his illustrious country forebear, once you scratch beneath the surface of his firebrand punk sensibility — has spent the years since his arrival on the alt scene flipping a fulsome bird at Nashville, and celebrating his fondness for having a good time . . . and if you want to know what a good time means to Hank III, cue up "Six Pack of Beer" and "Pills I Took" before raising a glass to the man and his like-minded rebels as he sings "Country Heroes."
