Comment:

Just a tape I made for driving to and from work, it was rather fun to make as I just went with my instincts. Featuring a mixed bag of new and old favourites. The flow and transition between each song is excellent. Unfortunately, this tape doesn't sound very good on my car's shitty sound system although it's decent on my CD player at home. The title comes from a Black Box Recorder Song although I tacked on the "Volume 1" part, hoping that this will be the beginning of a series of driving tapes. Length: 90 minutes.

This looks like a really great mix; I especially like your choices on the Beta Band, the Shins, Badly Drawn Boy, the Pixies, the White Stripes, and Paul Simon. And the Mark Mothersbaugh is a nice touch.

Wow...lots of *great* stuff here! Where'd you get the Mothersbaugh track?

"Juxtapozed with U"...am I alone in thinking that's a dead ringer for mid-'80s Elvis Costello?

the Mothersbaugh track is from the Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack, it's actually a short little instrumental piece that starts the whole things off.

as for the Super Furries, I guess in terms of lyrics and vocal stylings that seem reminiscent of Elvis Costello in that particular track, although i'm not too sure about the music..

thanks to everyone who replied, i'm glad you all like the mix. it's great to hear your feedback, especially considering i'm a "newbie" in this community. so yeah, thanks.

I like this! I could listen to that Ed Harcourt song over and over and not get sick of it.
