Comment:

Another entry in my anthology of mixing all the artists in my CD collection in alphabetical order. Ugh, to have to include a few of these bands, like Pushmonkey, The Prayer Boat and The Posies, aren't a lot of fun, as I found after buying those albums that I'm not really all too fond of them. So yeah, this mix starts out really well, but stumbles in the last act. The Nirvana track is the hidden track off "No Alternative," and I know it's also been called "Sappy" (and I think I've heard a third title too). Along with "Outcesticide," it's the only Nirvana I own at the (debt-ridden) moment. I know what your saying "Why in the world would you sell off your Nirvana and Pixies albums before your Pushmonkey, Prayer Boat and Posies?" The answer is... I don't know, why the hell did I do that? As always, judging from my collection, feel free to mention what other artists you think I should add to my collection. *************************************************(ARTISTS ADDED TO MY COLLECTION SINCE MAKING THIS MIX: Nad Navillus, Now It's Overhead, Old Time Relijun, Queens of the Stone Age.)

oh, and for other artists to add - how 'bout some 60s pop, but not cds - get the original vinyl versions, if you can (try swap meets and used record stores - i find a shitload of stuff there).

You've got more good stuff here, Patrick. That's my favorite Nirvana tune. Anybody that has Papas Fritas in their collection is up there in my book. I can't imagine getting rid of early Pearl Jam. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but everything up to and including Vitalogy is great. If you want a good source for older music, the Nuggets boxed set is wonderful-- around 100 songs from 60's 'garage bands'. No proper CD collection should be without it. That's the letter 'N' for Nuggets! And you should at least have Queen's Greatest Hits. No?

Truth be told, I like post-Vitalogy Pearl Jam better. I do like all the album, though, although I've never bothered getting "Ten" on CD yet. And yeah! I've been wanting to pick up "Nuggets," I just haven't seen it around yet. And Queen, well I had that on tape years ago, it's a guilty pleasure, but I haven't listened to it in a long time (ever since my girlfriend could not have sex to it because she was laughing too hard).
