Comment:
31. Material Issue - Diane, 32. John Sebastian - Welcome Back, 33. The Pooh Sticks - Sweet Baby James, 34. Rock 'n' Roll Double Bubble Trading Card Co. of Philadelphia - Bubble Gum Music. Whew! Some of these are repeats from my original disc, "My Stupid Youth", as well as "In the court of birds". This is the disc I originally wanted to make, sorta. Bubblegum music is frequently hard to take in large doses such as this, so I've broken it up with cartoon themes and bubblegum-like tunes from the past 20 years. So dig in, kiddies, but don't forget to brush your teeth. If you're nice - really nice - there may be a second helping of this in store for ya.Feedback:
fun, funny, yes we got to have a upcoming trade soon,
Hey!
Where's Tommy Roe?
Where's Tommy Roe?
I'm gonna' grab my string of RainBlo and read this again, and again...jus' chew on it awhile. Nice one Sean!
Hmm. Hmm. I think I like this, but no Partridge Family? I'd really love to trade for this if you're interested.
Cool one, Seanald. You sure get a lot of mileage out of these tracks, don't you? ;-)
bubblegum is better than crack
Excellent. Though the omission of the Bay City Rollers seems downright criminal. A bit of Neil Diamond would help as well.
This looks great Sean. I think I've developed a cavity just looking at it. Haven't heard Pianosaurus since my college radio days. All toy instruments, right? Have you seen the book called Bubblegum Music is the Naked Truth? It's a wonderful collection of essays on the subject.
This is good and I have planes for a bubblegum mix as well. Should be done by the end of this week.
Oh, I'm gonna be needing this. I love the 1910 Fruitgum Company, and "The Rain, the Park, and Other Things" is just sublime. (Ion Moe, I never heard of that book, but I have the old compilation album of that name around here somewhere...)
Hey, I like Mary Anne. The rest of this would put me in a diabetic coma.
a great mix, Sean. I'm glad you didn't include the bay city rollers or I might have had to kill you. :-)
Oh come on Gerard! I love the Bay City Rollers .I used to watch the short lived Saturday morning show they hosted. This is a great mix . Can you throw it in with next package? What can I trade you for it? Aren't The Pooh Sticks from Wales? I used to lived in Cardiff for about a year and I seem to remember hearing alot about them... and Bonnie Tyler.
Oh Sean, you've done it again! I LOVE this! Pianosaurus rock!! Yipee =)
This is definitely the tip of the food pyramid! One question...where's the illustrations? ;-)
I had thought of doing Bubblegum as letter Bb or just for kicks anyway. I still might. Pianosaurus were indeed all toy instruments. Drummer Stephen Danzinger would destroy his Muppets kit ala Keith Moon. I knew him from his stint in Dogbowl (He also drummed for GG Allin, King Missle and The Nitemares who put out the song "Baseball Altamont"--Am I the only one who recalls this song?)
Great work! I think I'll skip the sugar for my next round of coffee...
Thanks for the remarks, my little friends. Volume 2 is in the works. We'll certainly see the artists listed below, including the legendary "Captain Groovy and his Bubblegum army". Any other suggestions are welcome. As for the BC Rollers, Gerry may be biased against them due to their Scottish roots. I can appreciate that, but "Saturday Night" is a pretty great tune. The Pianosaurus tracks came from the recently discovered cd (with bonus tracks!) of their lp, the tape of which I've long since worn out. Toy instruments AND Peter Holsapple producing - how can you go wrong. I urge all of you to find that classic record.
....i feel love in my tummy. this mix sounds FUN.
i would pay good money for this beast.
i would also pay good money. damn fine piece of work here luv.
you people suck!!!!!!!
bobby_jones rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bobby_jones had sex 7 times
it was fun and it felt good!!
A yummy confection of the classics. Now, get this mix to the few oldies stations left so they'll retire the same 10 Motown songs in heavy rotation!
Another fantastic mix.
I'd love to hear these.
