Comment:

James Brown famously gave the drummer some, what about the bass player? An ongoing, ever expanding series that gives props to the bass player. The Charles Mingus portion will likely expand into additional volumes as I focus here on some side sessions and the Atlantic albums without getting to arguably his best band; the workshop with Eric Dolphy, et al. This is in no particular order. Enjoy.

I've been looking for a decent comp of his for a while now. This fits the bill perfectly. Great work, Curtis, as usual.

every mix should give props to bass players in some way shape or form, in my opinion, and this mix is *great*. Haitian Fight Soong through Moanin' in particular.

I've got at least 5 more bassists planned, from all over the spectrum, one of whom is going to take some time and research.

And that's all I'm sayin'.
