Comment:
I started this tape on a power pop kick but the Easy Rider reference in the FoW song sent me on a more mellow trip. The Cat Stevens and Flaming Lips songs work well together mainly because the melodies are pretty much identical just as the White Stripes song sounds like everything Jim Croce ever did. Nearing the end of the first side I decided I had enough moping so the second side is intentionally more positive and upbeat. I have no idea how the Wolfe Tones sneaked on there. It just seemed to follow from the Hefner song; one politically incorrect song deserved another. ;-) Anyway, this was good practice while I attempt to compile the perfect mix for Mr. Conroy.Feedback:
brilliant tape.
I LOVE the title. Doo doodle ooo doo...?

Oh! "Red Dragon Tattoo!" Love it!
a lot of good stuff here, fav track today Kinks - Set me free
Looks good! Good luck on your attempt to make the perfect mix for Rob. Make sure you include a Kajagoogoo b-side! ;)
Nice mix...! (Ion knows what he's talkin' about too..., although I would've gone with some live Thompson Twins. ;)
Nice mix indeed! Love the Folk Implosion and Pet Shop Boys picks.
This looks pretty damn near perfect to me. Love that Elvis tune in particular. And your description of the White Stripes song is worth the price of admission.
This does indeed look amazing. Could be your best mix yet, Kathleen. Now I can't wait to see what you cook up for me... btw, props on including my absolute favorite Phil Ochs tune *and* titling a mix after it.
Hmmm, very nice mix.
yup, really fantatic mix. and splenderific title as well!
the poets & mouse songs are killer - whole thing looks like a tasty pie
that is very nice. :) teheeee.
Well, you've got The Stones and The Velvets, so that's me happy. I adore that Phil Ochs tune too and "She'd Rather Be With Me" is a top pick. But, The Wolfe Tones?! Kathleen, there is no excuse for including these scumbags on anything."NO! NO! NEVER! NEVER" (shouted in a Paisley voice). Didn't I teach you anything by the banks of the liffey? This is quite geeky, by the way! ;)
Sorry, should have said, Chorlton and The Wheelies? Classic. I prefer the "Jamie and the Magic Torch" theme myself! Hope you're well, by the way. I got the bullet from NE. Happy Days! - Barry.
