Comment:
80 minutes of classic-era T. Rex, focusing on the first four albums and attendant singles under that moniker. I wish I could have included "Sunken Rags", "Tenement Lady", "Baby Strange", "Rock On", "Mambo Sun", "Rip-Off" and "Rapids", as well, but ran into problems with the whole space considerations thing. (Note: This mix was extensively revised on 5/2/05 and again on 5/30/05, once my Tyrannosaurus Rex comp was completed.)Feedback:
Ooooh, nice. And stop fussing 'bout "Ride a White Swan", Rob. I've got it sorted for ya. ;-)
a great tribute, it's nearly 25 years ago now since Gloria Jones (of tainted love fame) drove that car into a three that killed Marc
This looks great Rob.
another great one Rob.
Been meaning to do one of these for months. Hard to build a solid but inexpensive Bolan collection, given the number of incomplete yet overlapping compilation albums out there. Apparently capitalizing on the 20th Century Boy commercial campaign, there's a new compilation that just came out which, best as I can tell, is one of the few to work out the licensing problems and include tracks from Tyrannosaurus Rex, the first 2 T. Rex albums (i.e. Electric Warrior), and the later T. Rex albums, so you may want to check that out to fill in the gaps. Alas, no "Baby Strange," and all I have is some demo version, though I'm not sure if I'd include that in the essential T. Rex canon if it weren't for the reformulated Big Star's bang-up cover version.
Very, very nice Rob. A terrific tribute to a terrific band. I just never get tired of these songs.
great stuff, Rob. Love jeepster and 20th century boy especially.
Fantastic Rob. Consider this trade bait (sorry for the delay in getting some stuff out to you BTW). Also, I think Marc was killed when Gloria drove into a tree, not a three! ;)
ION is a messerschmitter ;(
Looks good Rob, T-Rex is well represented here in Mighty Casetta towers (as illustrated in RSE1.0). Most of the collection is in the vinyl catagory so can't help you with "Ride A White Swan". I might transfer the T-Rex Xmas messages over to CD for a holiday mix in a few.
Really great. It looks like we both prefer Slider to Warrior ;-) My third fave lp is Zinc Alloy, no matter how abused its rep is. I also like Country Honey (borrowed by GnR for Paradise City!).
Nice picks! It would have been fitting if he did drive in to a number 3....
AWESOME.
Great band! Great picks, too!(Maybe his license plate said: "UB3"..?)
Yep, nice picks Rob.
fantastic. you gotta watch out for those 3s, though...
I keep meaning to do a cd of my favourite rare marc bolan tracks, and this has definately given me the incentive to do it... I have 'ride a white swan' if you need it... Nice to see 'spaceball ricochet' on this, as I really love that track...
Absolutelt fab again Rob.....Maybe i'm the only one on this earth...but i love "Children of the revolution"...But HEY!....I want this one...in our future trade....in 2010 :-D
