Comment:
Not much to say about this one. Made it with a friend in mind whose musical tastes are not exactly diametrically opposed to mine, but, well, she likes things like Train, Taxiride, Tal Bachman, Blood Sweat & Tears, Ben Folds, Alanis Morrisette... i.e. not the sort of stuff I generally listen to myself. (I was astonished to discover that she also likes Edgard Varese, though that's another story.) Anyway, she not very subtly hinted the other day that I should make a CD for her, so I have done, this is it... I asked her what sort of things did she not want on the CD (easier than asking what she *did* want), and all she said was "no death metal". That didn't make the task any easier at all (and I don't have much death metal anyway), but I blundered on regardless, operating on the general principle that there shouldn't be anything overly terrifying on it. We need to take these things slowly, after all; no use hitting her with some of the estimable lo-fi jr's esoteric punk collections just yet... glorious as they are, if I tried those on her now she'd probably never speak to me again. Maybe somewhere down the track it'll be safe for the scarier stuff...Feedback:

Great stuff, James. I always enjoy seeing new mixes from you.

Awww c'mon! I'm In Love With your Mom is one of the most romantic songs I know. A sure winner for any crush mix.

I'm not so sure if you're gonna win her heart with Einstuerzende Neubauten, but well, we'll see. Nice work.
