Comment:

Final (for now) volume of a 10-disc set compiling the essential artists (primarily punk/indie/alternative/etc.) from 1969-1999. I've designed the artwork for these to fit into 5 2-cd cases, ideal for display in one's home. Now if only I could figure out how to rig up a professional-looking box to hold them... [To see all the artwork in context, it's posted at http://home.attbi.com/~mfagel/cdrmixhistory.html.]

i'm sorry, what??? tubthumping should be forgotten, not remembered as part of rock 'n roll history. good job otherwise.

Yeah, I wasn't too sure about including Tubthumping. (I managed to exclude other, comparable novelty hits, like "Steal My Sunshine" and "Brimful of Asha," but, hey, I had to justify the $0.99 I spent on the Chumbawamba single.

I've seen this entire collection on your website, and it's astounding. Great stuff, although I still like Brimful of Asha =)

I like Asha too; and Tubthumping; and Steal my Sunshine. Hell, don't tell anyone, but I even like "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies, who otherwise suck. But these are all tracks I'd consider novelty tunes, fun but hardly remarkable, better purchased as singles than albums.

Brimful of Asha is hardly a novelty hit

Nice mix, though you could have chosen something off of the *good* Hole album, i.e.. when Kristen was playing and they still had some credibility.
