In our Deep Cuts, we discover how today's toddlers love music not only from all over our planet, but also from all through its history. Courtesy of the [i]Simply Mad About the Mouse[/i] collection, France's Gipsy Kings flamenco up Pinocchio's voyage of self-discovery in "I've Got No Strings," originally featured in the famed Disney film from 1940. As usual, country legend Johnny Cash was way ahead of the curve when he cut [i]The Johnny Cash Children's Album[/i] in 1975, but he reached back nearly 100 years before [i]that[/i] for the song "Grandfather's Clock," which was at the top of the 1876 hit parade. And what better way to end our program than with the nearly otherworldly gorgeousness of ex-Red House Painter Mark Kozelek, alt-rocking your little one to sleep with "Bedtime Lullaby"?
