Monsters really do exist. The best part? Their harmonies sound like bliss. This supergroup is the union of three folk-leaning rockers — Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes), and M. Ward. The music they create is frightfully delightful. “Say Please” sounds like McCartney-era Wings, while “Dear God” is a candid letter to the most high — combining an ethereal hip-hop beat with falsetto harmonies (a la Bee Gees). Sprinkle in folk-inspired storytelling (“The Sandman, the Brakeman, and Me”) and we're proud to say we believe in Monsters.
