Comment:

Made this one today on a sudden impulse cause it seemed to reflect the mood of this afternoon quite well, and of early september this year in general, the grey weather, the quiet melancholy of it all. A lot of stuff is from recent purchases. (And by the way, if someone who reads this has the Extra Glenns album, I'd be very interested to get in touch with him/her - the song I included, and which I love, was downloaded from Epitonic, and I can't seem to find this album anywhere. Oh well.) I have managed to include only one Mountain Goats song, because the others wouldn't have fit very well on this, but these days I hardly seem to be able to listen to anything else, except maybe the MK Ultra stuff, which you can download at www.mkultra.com.

my god, you have such fabulous taste. two names to plunk down that I'd wager you need to know if you don't: John Vanderslice? (of MK Ultra, with Mt. Goats/Glenns connections, amazing solo work.) Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire? (great friend of the H. Family, violinist on "In the Air.") but yes. hooray for this excellent music.

Ohh, this looks really interesting.
I've downloaded "Mass Suicide Occult figurines" from Vanderslice's site and I like it a lot. Bowl Of Fire looks really intriguing. I'll see if I can find some downloads somewhere to hear what they sound like. Thanks !
