Comment:
This mix is coming on the heels of a couple of much better(and probably more comprehensive) Texas band mixes. A Day late is better than not at all I guess. Here Goes. By The Way I REALLY want to put a track from a defunct Houston band called Crazy Killed Mingus on here and I can't find my tape, If anybody on here could help me I would appreciate it!Feedback:
You must be from Austin, because there's only ONE Denton band (Lift) on the mix! Still, I like it. Burden Brothers! Fort Worth forever.
Houston actually, so I am pretty isolated from local music from around the state. Bands tend to make the DFW/Austin/San Antonio Loop and avoid Houston all together. It's hard to make a name for yourself in a state that it takes days to get across.
Hey, but H-Town has all those Dirty South Rappers!
BTW, nice touch putting Eyes of Texas on there. I once slapped together a mix for a road trip to Big Bend (about 9 hours) and included that. I don't know where that disc is now, but it had George Jones' "You Can't Get The Hell Out Of Texas" on it.

one dfw band to kick into the mix is the polyphonic spree. they rule all!!!
Dude theres like a billion sweet bands from Texass not on here. Chomsky, Daryl, Weener (if you like covers, which I do), but who am I to judge. I hate Texass, and I suck at making mixed tapes.
so never mind.
I do like the mix, either way.

....Cotton Mather..?
holy shit REO Speeddealer! one of my friends from dallas turned me on to them...he used to get tattoos and piercings from one on the band members... they have one of the best names _ever_! them and john cougar concentrationcamp!
You are probably not on here anymore... Somewhere in my house is a crazy killed Mingus cd... If you still need it
