Comment:
A long delayed follow up to the first Livestock Show, Punk Rodeo mix. This one is a labor of love for the ladies, if you will. The idea for both is to have an alternating DJ (or at least genre) feel to it, while also sounding cohesive and not gimmicky. I tried to pick punk songs with a western flavoring and vice versa, and I know that not all the selections may not fit in some people's traditional definitions of punk or country but it's my mix, so there. Strangely enough I did not set out to include all these "love songs;" it just turned out that way. A few last details: the Dolly Varden track is not a typo, that's the groups real name, I have no idea what the official or unoffical name is to that last track for Neko Case (if you do, I'd appreciate you telling me), oh yes....the new Sleater Kinney is even better than the hype. Enjoy.
Feedback:
Girl songs ARE, by and large, love songs. Man this looks ace, cool idea.
Great stuff! Throw some Mekons or Sally Timms on, too.
This looks really, really good. Tons of great picks.
hey this sounds really really good!
Oh my, this is wonderful. Loads of favorites here including Neko Case and Laura Cantrell (a WFMU DJ by the way).
This looks pretty cool. That new Sleater-Kinney song kicks ass. Nice to see it here.
This is indeed great! I always admire mixes devoted to my favorite gender.
Southern Culture's "Camel Walk" woulda' done good here as well! Gods bless wimmerns! Like Ion said....
How fun is this?!
