Comment:
I wanted to make a mix that captured different emotions, themes, and perspectives on the events of 9-11. My own views are just that, my own, but the absence of country songs should tell you something. Tracks 1-4 are to give an overview of what happened; Tracks 5-7 cover collective sadness and personal loss; Tracks 8-11 touch on coming together, trying to find hope, etc; Tracks 12-17 on patriotism, rebuilding and the military campaign; Tracks 18-21 offer a ying/yang political perspective (if you haven't heard the Steve Earle song, it's chillingly good); Track 22 is kind of where I think a lot of people are now, trying to move on and see a bright future; 23 wraps it up and 24 is a nod to the hope that songs like Adams' (written before 9-11) can use NYC as a backdrop without 9-11 being the first thing that comes to mind. That might take a while. Anyway... there has been/will be mixes like this one that are better and/or different from mine. I will say that I have never worked harder on a mix in my life...so please be kind. :) Thanks.Feedback:
