Comment:

80 of my favorite minutes by one of the only hip-hop bands that I still love (the others being Black Star, A Tribe Called Quest, and Public Enemy). A tip of the hat to Fat Bastard's fine Roots comp posted a month ago.

All songs, by all artists, should have "?!!!??!" in their titles. The world would be a better place.

lovely group, but i also recomend my neptunes mixes for some great updated hip hop or my forthcoming DJ premier mix, and you also have to love Jay-Z and for god sake check out the new Nelly album and the new Scarface album (that's scary stuff)

This looks great,Rob. I would have to agree with p the swede on the neptunes and Jay-Z. The Roots were his backing band on the Unplugged album he released late last year. Good stuff.

man, jay z sucks. the roots saved his unplugged album, quite a few of the songs are actually entertaining. but i'd back up nas in the jay-z/nas battle everytime.

I will admit, Doctor Poserlad, that I was never a huge fan of Jay-Z before the Unplugged album. The Roots are a big reason that album is so great. As far as Jay-Z vs. Nas goes, I like 'em both. :)
