Comment:
This mix is just about all of my favorite artists, those that got me through daily commutes again and again. I limited myself to one song from each artist, and only music that I own. The one glaring oversight -- no Bob Marley! He was literally in the player when I asked for volunteers, so I gave his space to the B-52s. No knocks on "Love Shack"; I love singing that one in the car (only the Fred Schneider vocals, tho); but I still would have put something from Marley in it's place, probably "Buffalo Soldiers" or "Redemption Song". The hardest decision over which one song from each artist was probably between David Bowie ("Golden Years" and "Modern Love" were also in the running) and Shaggy (I really like "Boombastic"). Overall, tho, this mix is me, September 2nd, 2002.
Feedback:
I enjoyed not having the playlist when I got this CD. I like not knowing what will come next. I was glad to hear a lot of artists that I like but usually don't include on mixes, especially Prince who's been a favorite for over half my life. The B52's made me roll my eyes a bit (in the most loving way, of course) because it seems a lot of men like that song/band. (?) Overall, I enjoy it a lot and now feel like I know you better (musically). I'm still working on the trade. :)
