Comment:

For Kathleen Gallagher. Finally. Sorry, Ms. G., no Todd on this, but I'll send you my Rundgren comp as consolation. None of these selections was selected ironically, despite my best attempts in the past to dismiss every G n' R song due to the fact that Axl is one of the biggest jackasses in the history of rock. Title from the Jon Spencer tune (thanks to Jen for it, for the J & M Chain song and for forever giving me a positive association with the Radiohead track). Thanks also to Gerry M. for the Leadbelly song and lo-fi for hunting down the latest Plush album for me.

Abba to Lemmy! You've out-mixed me on that one Rob. Glad to hear you're digging the Plush now.

Real nice Rob. Put Abba in their place I'd say, sandwiched between Mission of Burma and Motorhead.

I like this. Latest Plush album? Is there something more recent than "More You Becomes You"? If so, what is it called and when was it released? Anyway, I'm especially fond of your Leadbelly pick - not being a big Nirvana fan, I always thought that was the highlight of their career. Bascom Lamar Lunsford does a wonderful acapella version of it too.

A nice eclectic one, Rob.What mixing's all about. You're welcome for the leadbelly track. Axl is an ass, but they did some great tunes. I find it personally useful to attempt to seperate the artists from their art. It helps me in the cases where the artists are real jerks.

Good stuff, Rob. Especially like the Pedro, Plush (although haven't heard the latest, but I'm sure I'd like it), J&M Chain, Archies and Mozza (he's coming to Perth for the first time next month! but no, as I've seen him 3 times, I'm not going to spend $50+ to see him again) picks. And what's up with that Great Lakes pick? Is that the Michael Nesmith song?

Thanks, all. Yes, Sue, that is indeed the Mike Nesmith tune. And yeah, I got a pretty large chuckle out of the ABBA-Motorhead transition, as well, but trust me it actually works. :-)

I've spent 50+ dollars on MOZ cos he's one of my biggest heroes and unfortunally i never had the cance to see him, maybe he knows where Sweden is nowadays, I checking out this site http://www.ambitious-outsiders.com nearly everyday, BTW like your mix a lot besides that wonderful Morrissey track, Abba, Jon Spencer, Erma Franklin and that fine 15 -18

Now that's what I call "running the gamut," Rob! Nice job folding in the recently departed Erma's original "Piece." Great work!

I thought Buckethead or lil' Tommy Stinson were now the coolest members of G 'n' R. Really cool mix Rob. Never have heard Plush before. I guess I'm missing out judging by the previous comments.
