In the end, it all comes down to the band. Even a man of Bob Wills' vision could never have altered the course of history without those Texas Playboys working wonders alongside him. The magic was there from the beginning, on their first-ever single, 1935's "Osage Stomp," with Jessie Ashlock's fiddle firing up those stop-start swing riffs. Check out "Bob Wills Special" to hear guitarist Eldon Shamblin and lap-steel stunner Leon McAuliffe lock in for a twin-guitar twangfest.
