Title & concept shamelessly filched from Buglady (who, in return, will find a copy of this in her mailbox shortly). Completely new tracklist, though, aside from the two Big Star songs (which seem mandatory for this sort of mix). I briefly toyed with sticking to songs including "night" or "evening" in the title, but the resulting mix lost the ambience I was looking for (i.e. a disc to listen to with the lights dimmed in the hour before going to sleep), so I dropped the gimmick. I think I was primarily looking for an excuse to use some songs from a great new disc I picked up by the Lovers (think Mazzy Star by way of the Sundays by way of Kristin Hersh). On the technical side: Far more volume variation among songs than I'd expected, so it took an hour with Cool Edit to get this to flow properly.
