Founded in 1967 by Australian musician, Daevid Allen, and his wife Gilli Symth, and supplemented during subsequent months by an illustrious collection of like-minded groovies, including Frenchman Didier Malherbe (discovered playing sax in a cave on Majorca) and ground-breaking Canterbury Scene guitarist Steve Hillage, Gong took the trippy side of prog and made it trippy-er.
