Comment:

Here's the story: my friend/coworker Kendra heard one tune by Sigur Ros (the one with the soccer player young boys make-out video) and got front row seats to go see em when they come to the T-Dot. She has since then heard a little more and likes them very much. Wanted me to make her a mix of similar stuff. So I made a pretty straightforward art-space-sad-post-rock mix. But I got bored. I decided hey yeah let's mix em all together. So I did. Then I decided hey let's throw in some vocals and poetry overtop. I just happened to buy the Secretly Canadian "The Unaccompanied Voice" CD tonight, so that's where most of the vocal tracks are coming from. So yeah, what we have here is one track, 1:15:50 in length, with very smooth transitions between songs, and yeah sometimes vocals or poetry mixed into it. The Pachalbel Canon/Footnote To Howl ending is HUGE! That's pretty much the only real standout but I dunno I made this mix fairly fast for the amount of work it was. I kinda want to pass it around so if you like any of the stuff you see, let me know and I'll send you a copy. Hehe.

I like alot of what I see here, including the Godspeeds, Mogwai and Matmos. Love the closing flourish too.

Looks very ambitious. Post rock does have a place, somewhere.

I'd really like to have a copy of this. I don't have much on here to trade, but I can make something for you or something, if you'd like.
