Comment:

A nod to one of the best shows on television, and the creator's uncanny ability to find the right song for the moment. Here's a rundown of which episode they appear in (for those who are fans):

1. "Mr. Willis of Ohio", in a bar scene;
2. "Six Meetings Before Lunch", CJ lip synchs it;
3. "Bartlet's Third State Of The Union", Ainsley sings along to it in her office;
4. "Somebody's Going To Emergency, Somebody's Going To Jail", intro and outro music;
5. "Two Cathedrals", background as the President goes to press conference;
6. "Isaac and Ishmael", outro music;
7. "Manchester, pt 1", background in a bar;
8. "Manchester, pt 1", background in a bar;
9. "Gone Quiet", CJ sings it in her office;
10. "The Two Bartlets", Josh plays it for Amy Gardner;
11. "Dead Irish Writers", played for Donna at the end of the episode;
12. "We Killed Yamamoto", Amy sings along to it;
13. "We Killed Yamamoto", background at Amy's;
14. "Posse Comitatus", background as Simon is shot;
15. "Posse Comitatus", chant the Shakespeare company sings as the episode ends;
16. "20 Hours In America, pt 2", background as the staff learn of the explosion.

This is by no means an exhaustive inventory of all the music featured in the West Wing, but it does represent the major highlights. Enjoy!

Ahh, figures! The day after I post this list, the show adds two more jewels worthy of inclusion. They are "One Week" by the Barenaked Ladies, and "Shed a Little Light" by Aimee Mann. The latter, I'm led to understand, is a James Taylor cover.

Both are from the episode "College Kids".
