Comment:
In Deep Cuts, we're rebel-rockin' our way into the Deep South for a little poke at Yankees (the above-the-Mason-Dixon-liners, not the baseball team), some much-needed R&R, and a hats-off to Old Glory. Going back to the days of "Sweet Home Alabama," Southern bands have taken great delight in giving the needle to uptight Northerners, and nobody ever did it better than the sweet home's namesake band, Alabama, does in "When It All Goes South (Extended Version)." Darryl Worley catches a warm Gulf gust that's made up from equal parts of Jimmy Buffett and Dave Loggins in the easy, breezy tranquility of "Second Wind." And if you need a stiff shot of patriotic pride to close out the year, check out the no-guff self-confidence of Aaron Tippin's "Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly."
