to a very (musically) close-minded girl. lots of stuff on here that's very obvious (john mayer, jack johnson, ben harper, dispatch, david gray, guster) grouped with some stuff she's probably heard of just hasn't gotten into (counting crows, travis, soul coughing, elliott smith) and some stuff i know she wouldn't have heard of and think she might enjoy (pedro, nick drake, rufus, that amazing off the beat cover). yeah the last track is cuz she's a huge john cusack fan and the original version of in your eyes just didn't fit on the mix. lucky for me there was an acoustic version so it fit in absolutely perfectly. i hope she'll enjoy this. oh yeah, i'm thinking of cutting out the westerberg and putting on a song by me, just for that little personal touch.Feedback:

if she asks for a mix of similar stuff, yes :) not trying to convert, just kinda show the light. she can convert herself if she really wants to. and a lot of the artists on here wouldn't be much of a conversion...
dave matthews is awful. awful!!!! well, i don't know him personally, but i've rarely heard such contrived drivel being passed off as art. and it rankles me even more than among certain cirlces he maintains some kind of "artistic credibilty". my eye!

gave it to her today. she almost cried. apparantly the ben harper tune is her favourite song ever. hehe good guess on my part. i learned that she's a huge counting crows but has yet to buy the new cd, also huge david gray and guster fan. had not heard of john mayer, soul coughing, nick drake, dispatch, and a couple others. made a funny face at pedro the lion. heh. she digs it though. a lot. i'm happy.

Well... I didn't want to get into band-bashing mode, but since the Lord Captain started it... Dave Matthews does suck particularly hard. But I'm glad she liked the mix. Good way to ease her into non-crap music. Oh! And did you you really want a copy of my latest sleep mix? Let me know, kay? ;)
