Here, Doves affirm their lasting excellence with a mix of album tracks, live songs, and B-sides: the heavyweight "Darker" stands out from 2003 compilation [i]Lost Sides[/i]; "House of Mirrors" from 2009's [i]Kingdom of Rust[/i] comes on like a fearsome blast from the past, stretching out its echoed sense of regret with sparkling hangwire guitar and heavily pummeled drums; and "M62 Song," from 2002's [i]The Last Broadcast[/i], was rumored to have been recorded underneath the motorway/freeway after which it was named.
