The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Guns N' Roses, Elvis Presley — they're all giants in their own right, yet they've all paid homage to another giant: the great and venerable Bob Dylan. Some of them made their Dylan covers their own: Hendrix's mighty "All Along the Watchtower", the Byrds' Cali-cool "Mr. Tambourine Man", the Red Hot Chili Peppers "Subterranean Homesick Blues"; even the Rolling Stones' big, gospel-driven live version of "Like a Rolling Stone".
