Comment:
The New York Dolls were a glam/trash Stones for the '70s, fronted by a perfect Mick 'n' Keith simulacrum. This tape was for a friend who liked the first Dolls record and knew nothing thereafter, and don't you make the same mistake. Sadly, this gives you most of what you need on David Jo (the first album and 'Live at the Bottom Line' will suffice), but it barely scratches the surface of the late, lamented Johnny, whose posthumous bootleg output has been phenomenal. You can't put your arms around a memory indeed.Feedback:
I have been looking everywhere for "In Style", by David Johansen, but it's out of print and very rare. I haven't found it on the web to download yet, either.
I'm going through your back catalog - this is awesome. I'm a BIG Thunders fan and you've hit tons of classics. My wife saw DJ a few weeks ago - said he was amazing.
