Comment:
Continuing this week's series, "Single Artist Mixes Replicating Mixes Recently Posted Here By Rob Conroy But, Hey, I Picked Different Songs And, Wow, Check Out The Nifty Cover Art!" Today we have the original boogie Jew, Marc Bolan, a.k.a. T. Rex, the artist name-checked in songs by everyone from Bowie to the Who, and the latest to have a new anthology released to capitalize on newfound popularity based on a car commercial. Whoopee! Actually, there are about a dozen various compilations of T. Rex material out there, but the new one (20th Century Boy) is the only one to include songs from his Tyranosaurus Rex acid-folk days, the early electric stuff, and the '72'-'73 heyday (though it comes up a bit short of material from the '74-'77 period). This mix tries to include a bit of everything (while sticking primarily to the Electric Warrior/Slider/Tanx golden era), jumbled up in somewhat random order.
Feedback:
what a fantastic mix! t. rex is my favourite glam band.
Looks good. I need to check that collection. My T-Rex collection is all vinyl with a few expceptions. Check out my Rock Snob Entry under Tt for my mix.
Rob -- no such accusation intended. We obviously share a lot of the same taste and the same obsessive need to reduce our insanely bloated music collections into handy single-artist samplers. I was just glibly conveying to any of the unwashed masses perusing this site my apologies for frequently duplicating the task you have already undertaken so ably.
LAZER LOVE & JEWEL where'd em go?
You bastard! You made a mix that I was conceiving of doing one day! How dare you! I kid, I kid.... Great mix!
