Comment:

1. This is a musical biography of sorts: the first in a (as of so far) three-part series spanning over a period of 20+ years. This is the result of me getting myself stuck on thinking about the status of music and all the recent, typical lines of questioning. Is rock undergoing a revival? Was it ever dead? What about punk? What is punk? Whatever it is, is it dead? What if its just me? Should punk and nostalgia ever coexist? Blah, blah, blah... More importantly, how did I get to where I am now musically and which parts from my past still fit in some way? As I get older how will such questions and answers continue to change for me???

I have vague ideas as how to answer most of these questions and I tried to hint at them here in these 3 CDs. These mixes were limited by my own "incomplete" collection, and by my sometimes faulty memory (let`s talk/trade!). I have tried to include tracks representative of the things I thought important during the time and to have ordered them either according to when I first "just discovered so-and-so" or when I really started getting deeper into something I had only previously listened to casually. For the times when I went totally monkey-poo over a particular band or artist I either grouped tracks together in (omigod) rock-blocks or interspersed them throughout where I thought best appropriate. I am sure there are some guilty pleasures and/or things most people don't think of as "punk." But so what? They are/were enough for me. Overall I will say this has been the most enjoyable and even comforting mix experience for me ever; I hope you enjoy seeing (or hearing) some of these included tracks as well.
