Comment:
getting a doctorate in history is going to be harder than anticipated. and is it really worth it just for the word "doctor" in front of my name? well...yes, absolutely. anyway yeah, if you comment, you have to tell me who your favorite writer is. as for favorite writers...ken kesey, aaron cometbus, chris furhman, george rr martin, howard zinn, robert cormier, george orwell...Feedback:
Some interesting songs side by side. Roots followed by Portishead might be cool. Favorite Writer? probably John Steinbeck. The first two pages in Of Mice and Men still floor me. There will never be another place and time so adeptly described as that roadside in California.
great mix. love the bad diary days -> the metro. crazy stuff. my fav authors have got to be kurt vonnegut, chuck palahniuk and jd salinger.
Good stuff Lord Captain Doctor, etc. So, what happens if I don't name a favorite author?
Aaah! Ok, ok...enough....Faulkner, Faulkner...
James Joyce./Great choices for Modest Mouse, Mountain Goats, Gang of Four and the Smiths.
james ellroy
Beckett, Joyce, & Bei Dao (if you're counting poets)...and, relative newcomer Colson Whitehead. Nice mix, too.
mmmmmm. Hunter Thompson. definitely. love the Wilco pick by the way.
Vonnegut, Crews, Ellroy, PKD. Latest reads by Auster & Tosch have them moving up my chart also. Dig the Black Flag & Joy Division picks.
Excellent stuff. Currently, Ian McEwan.
a mix in the truest sense.. good stuff man. uhmmmm... tom robbins, douglas adams, and vonnegut
Most assuredly a "mix".., stylistically and otherwise. (Get the doctorate. Best wishes!) I'll take Borges, Robert Anton Wilson,Tom Robbins, and PKD.
Jack Kerouac, Steve Kluger, Bill Lee, Paul Quarrington. This mix is good looking.
Nice mix. James Ellroy, Elmore Leonard, PKD, David Thomson, Theodore Roszak, Arno Schmidt are the names that come to mind, plus the mighty B.S. Johnson . . .
Great mix. Nick Hornby and Douglas Coupland are my contemporary favorites.
aww so cool! J.D. Salinger, Sarah Vowell, Shel Silverstein and E.L. Konigsburg
love Karma Payment Plan. Authors: J.D. Salinger, Jack Kerouac, Dave Eggers, Zadie Smith, T.S. Eliot, E.E. Cummings (poetry counts, right?)
prtishead and tom waits always go well together, i've noticed, for some odd reason. you wouldn't think so, but they do. ummm, milan kundera and thomas hardy, i guess. and lemony snicket.
a good mix. gabriel garcia marquez, jack kerouac, aaron cometbus, francesca lia block, kathy acker, jeanette winterson, james joyce, sylvia plath, w.b. yeats, michelle tea. . .
a mix i would make, which means i like it more than butter pecan ice cream or HOT SEX. my favorite authors are salinger, rilke, kerouac, dave eggers, anne sexton, thomas pynchon...
ouu! fun and cool mix! all the children shout "Huzzah!"...
favorite writers: Philip K Dick & F Scott Fitzgerald

You had to ask... Henry Rollins, Howard Zinn, Ward Churchill, and Lynn Breedlove.
Steven Chbosky, J.D. Salinger, Francesca Lia Block, Chris Fuhrman, Chuck Palahuniuk (or something), KURT VONNEGUT...A whole bunch more that I can't think of right now b/c I have to go to a Halloween party. G'bye.
incredible mix. The writers? Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Catherine MacCoun (she only wrote one book, damn her, but it's my favorite), Neil Gaiman, Caleb Carr, too many to name (life- it's all about music, reading, and kissing).
David Foster Wallis and Mordechai Richler.
*Wallace
and Kathy Acker
Neato!
Right now, I'd say Melanie Rae Thon. Or maybe Haruki Murakami.

Neato indeed. Can't argue with Modest Mouse.
Salinger rocks my pants off.
