Comment:

Bert Jansch caused an absolute sensation for his innovative guitar technique and powerful songs. Phenomenally influential, this ground-breaking virtuoso acoustic guitar player with deeply affecting songwriting and dark, passionate voice has delighted audiences since the mid sixties. After starting a solo career,he help form the British folk group Pentangle then returned to a solo career as well as perfroming on sessions with others. He is famously admired by Jimmy Page and Neil Young, more recently Noel Gallagher (Oasis), Jarvis Cocker (Pulp), Bernard Butler (Suede) and Johnny Marr (The Smiths) have paid homage to this quiet, unassuming, but hugely revered master.

"As much of a great guitar player as Jimi [Hendrix] was, Bert Jansch is the same thing for acoustic guitar ... and my favourite." - Neil Young.
"At one point I was absolutely obsessed with Bert Jansch. When I first heard that LP (1965) I couldn't believe it. It was so far ahead of what everyone else was doing. No one in America could touch that." - Jimmy Page

Y'know, I've really been wanting to check him out. I've only heard a comp track here and there, and it certainly caught my interest. If you need anything in trade from me, please hold a copy of this. I'm really interested.
