Comment:

This is a mix I made for a friend of mine who's been going through a pretty tough time in his life lately and I wanted to simultaneously cheer him up a bit and introduce him to some music he hasn't heard before.

I recognize that I have violated a couple mix making rules by beginning the mix with a first track of an album, following that with a second track, and having three first tracks in a row at some point. This doesn't really bother me though. It flows fairly well and I think it will fulfill its purpose.

oh. are there any mix-making rules? this is truly a great mix, and forget about rules.

The not using the first track of an album rule is a new rule to me. I consistently use "I Still Get Rocks Off) by Blonde Redhead to start of mixes, so maybe it's OK if the song has "Rocks Off" in the title...

I guess I should have put quotes around "rules." Those are just the sorts of rules people I know set for themselves. Thanks for the feedback!

i set that first-track rule for myself, and i'm gratified to know someone else does too! yr mix rocks anyway though, so maybe that rule should go out the window. props especially for the john cale and band tunes, but excellent stuff all around.
