For a man as, ahem, Strait-laced as George, he sure knows how to charm the ladies . . . but not [i]all[/i] of his love songs are strictly boy-meets-girl. Probably the closest he gets to a swoon-inducing, knight-in-shining-armor ballad is his country-wedding-first-dance staple "I Cross My Heart (Pure Country Soundtrack Version)." In the hands of another singer, "My Infinite Love" could cross over into sugar-shock territory, but Strait ladles out his baritone believability like country gravy over grits with the rock-solid dedication of a man (not unlike himself) who's been married to his high school sweetheart for nearly four decades. And George carries his dart-to-the-heart sincerity out of the boudoir and into the family room in "Love Without End, Amen," a homespun homily passed down from a father — and the Father — to his offspring.
