Comment:
an intro to rap for people who don't listen to rap. it's designed for preppy white kids, and i'm hoping to give them something other than eminem to blast from their sport-utes. liking this won't ruin their preppy cred, and will win them friends in the backpacker set.continuous mix, although not particularly scientific.
Feedback:
also: the lack of beastie boys would be a glaring omission, except this is made for beastie boys fans.also: the title is from a simpsons quote.
i'm pretty happy with this. that kardi track just rocks my socks. fuck those TO backpackers who won't give kardinall some credit. nice buck 65 pick too.
love it. this is definitely suburban white boy rap. PERFECT tribe pick. respect on that. ummm also, could use some jeru tha damaja, dilated peoples, wyclef jean, swollen members, and black eyed peas. it's all about the multiple blackalicious tunes, and regulate. fucking ridiculously good.
i ran out of space... actually had a dilated peoples track on there, but dumped it in favour of princess superstar, of all things.i didn't count "ego trip" as a blackalicious track per se, so cheated and sort of used them twice.i'm going to do a part 2 with the best of the more mainstream stuff... soon.
...cuz outkast, nerd, j5, tribe, and the roots aren't mainstream. i dig it ;)
oh screw you, do you think i could make a rap mixtape without those folks? i'm thinking that plus nas, wu-tang, dre, OH HELL YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.bitch.
don't like backpackers or preppies; but this mix is pretty good.
For preppy white kids? Shouldn't you have put Third Bass and Young Black Teenagers on here too? ;) Maybe you can save them for part 2. Also, PRT and De La Soul are pretty non threatening.
Who sings the song, that has a lady singing but it's rap too and it's about poverty and I KNOW they say Tommy Motola in the beginning. And the vid is them in an apartment hall..please tell me what song that is if you know it.
