Comment:

Apparently, Blitzkrieg Bop has been used in some recent children's entertainment. Weird/cool sensation to catch my six year old son singing it. Always on the lookout for tunes we can all agree upon in the car, I intended to turn him fully onto da brudders. Quickly realizing how irresponsible it'd be to just hand the LPs over to him, I cooked up a parentally screened mix instead. Not surprisingly, it ended up leaning heavily on covers & Joey songs. Not the mix I'd make for myself, but it beats the shit outta the current swill foisted upon kids today.

Thanks all. I guess I've kinda groomed Nate for this. One of his first words was Elvis. The first night I rocked him to sleep I was at a loss for lullabys & ended up singing a medley of Ramones tunes to him.

The Mixer's Declaration:
We hold these truths to be self evident;
That all mixers are created equal,
That they are endowed with specific genre preferences & skills,
That, in the course of normal events, they will become parents,
That they will gradually have to compromise/edit their chosen genres,
That they will do so, begrudgingly, KICKING & SCREAMING
That there is truth in the statement: "What a draaaag it is getting old"

I have loved this band for a quarter of a century! That's a loooooong time. Like them just as much now as I did then. This is a faultless collection, Jim. Thanks for bringing back so many good memories, sniff sniff (Tears, not glue-sniffing!)

Really sweet gesture. As much as I like the Ramones, though, Jim, I'd hate to see him replace the Beatles with them as his favorite band. :-)
