Comment:
Apparently, Blitzkrieg Bop has been used in some recent children's entertainment. Weird/cool sensation to catch my six year old son singing it. Always on the lookout for tunes we can all agree upon in the car, I intended to turn him fully onto da brudders. Quickly realizing how irresponsible it'd be to just hand the LPs over to him, I cooked up a parentally screened mix instead. Not surprisingly, it ended up leaning heavily on covers & Joey songs. Not the mix I'd make for myself, but it beats the shit outta the current swill foisted upon kids today.
Feedback:
gabba gabba hey! hope you never catch your son sniffing glue.....
great mix and cool that your son like the guys from 53rd and 3rd, my youngest son think that everyone that sings on TV is Elvis but he is just 4 and my other son likes Queen's We will rock you, what should i do ?
great mix - i have just started to introduce my son to joey, dee dee, et al - 'course, he's only 5 months old. it's never to early to start, i think. by the way, the mixes you sent are awesome...
i loved cretin hop when i was a kid. sigh...
hmm...maybe i could have children just for the sake of making them have really good taste in music???? nice selections all round. get the kiddies started nice and early!
Thanks all. I guess I've kinda groomed Nate for this. One of his first words was Elvis. The first night I rocked him to sleep I was at a loss for lullabys & ended up singing a medley of Ramones tunes to him.
The Mixer's Declaration:
We hold these truths to be self evident;
That all mixers are created equal,
That they are endowed with specific genre preferences & skills,
That, in the course of normal events, they will become parents,
That they will gradually have to compromise/edit their chosen genres,
That they will do so, begrudgingly, KICKING & SCREAMING
That there is truth in the statement: "What a draaaag it is getting old"
I wanna' be sedated

Whoa, great idea, great songs. Makes me wanna have a 6 year old.
I have loved this band for a quarter of a century! That's a loooooong time. Like them just as much now as I did then. This is a faultless collection, Jim. Thanks for bringing back so many good memories, sniff sniff (Tears, not glue-sniffing!)
Mas fina lo-fi! It doesn't make me wanna' have kid but..., that's what neices & nephews are for right..? ("She's a Sensation" is one of my fav' songs by the boys. Imminently hummable!) This is how you build a better future!!! I'm with Gerry! 'ey-ohh, let's go!
but i just wonder ,why don't you put "Were a happy family" on the mix ;)
Nice one!
Really sweet gesture. As much as I like the Ramones, though, Jim, I'd hate to see him replace the Beatles with them as his favorite band. :-)
