Comment:

While Atlanta, Georgia, has generated mainstream buzz as Justin Bieber's adopted home town, an alternative kind of fanfare should be sounded for fellow residents, Deerhunter, who have consistently surprised and delighted with their experimental indie output since forming back in 2001. Led by Bradford Cox, the band has zig-zagged capriciously between styles, brushing much of their material with a distinctive hint of the bizarre, and smartly indulging their shoegazers' love of the noisescape. We start with several stunners from the late '00s: the gorgeously surf-twang'd title track from the [i]Rainwater Cassette Exchange[/i] EP and the shimmering "Nothing Ever Happened".
