Comment:

From Dallas to Paris, from the legendary 1962 Apollo performance to the triumphant return to that stage more than 30 years later, nobody — nobody — ever commanded the spotlight like James Brown in concert. Just listen to how the crowd explodes when he launches into the sanctified doo-wop of "Try Me," how the squeal of pleasure/pain just can't be contained as he rasps his way though his plea. Or to the rat-a-tat machine-gun blast of his "baby, baby, baby" in "I Got the Feeling," as the supercharged, super-tight JB horns slash and stab over a double-time funk beat. We'll close it out with the greasiest gospel sermon ever delivered from a backroom brothel, in the swamp-cooler pressure cooker groove of "Get Up (I feel Like Being A) Sex Machine." Even if you missed James back in the day, you can still get the ultimate backstage pass to his greatest concert that never was, right here. . . from your friends at iTunes.
